Oark Family & Community Engagement Hornet Spotlight: Meet Mr. McCabe, our new 7-12 English Teacher! 🐝 Mr. McCabe had this to say about accepting this position, "Oark is my dream school. Many, many years ago I remember reading in the Johnson County Graphic about Shakespeare Festivals at Oark Schools. I thought, “Wow, that little school has it going on! I’d love to teach there someday.” A small school that reaches for the sky like its surrounding trees–it’s a dream come true to get the opportunity to be the high school English teacher for Oark. I hope with patience and time to be an outstanding teacher for the Oark community." Mr. McCabe also said, "I look forward to forming relationships with my students and their families. Communication with parents is important. Parents are the primary teachers; without parents, students typically struggle. I aspire to keep constant contact with the parents working as a team to help our students. My family–I am married to my beautiful and extremely mean wife Missy. We have four kids, ten grandchildren, a dog who can talk although I’ve never heard her, but I know she can talk, and a master hunter of a cat. My wife and I currently live in Russellville, but we hope to relocate towards Oark ASAP, the Lord willing. WOW! 💜 We are so happy that Mr. McCabe chose to come join our Oark Hornet Family!! Help us welcome him to the nest!! 😄🐝
