Family & Community Engagement Hornet Spotlight: Meet our new K-12 Music Teacher, Ms. Rund! 🎶 Ms. Rund is a graduate from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, MD. She loves music and is excited to share that with her students! 💜 When asked what inspired her to be a teacher, she said, “It has to be my teachers growing up; they were who asked me questions, encouraged my curiosity, quenched my thirst for knowledge, and who inspired me to be a better human every day. I also have incredible parents, my very first teachers, who constantly challenged me to be better than the day before, taught me to never be satisfied with mediocrity, and encouraged me to pursue any and everything that piqued my interest.” We asked Ms. Rund what her favorite subject was when she was in school and she said: “I know I am supposed to say music or band, but those were never “subjects” for me; they were like coming home and the comfort places in my day. My favorite subject other than those had to be english. This is where I was challenged the most, where my creativity flourished, and where I could most easily connect my passion for music to daily tasks.” Her interests include Music Psychology, Neurobiology, and Music History. She has two sassy, cuddly, rambunctious kitties named Oscar and Milo. She is eager to meet all of our students and their families at Open House on August 11th and is super excited to be a member of our #OarkHornetFamily 🐝💜 Please help us welcome her to the family! 😄

Students on the Oark High School reward trip will be leaving Little Rock at 3:00 and should be at McCormick’s around 5:20.

May 10th High School Field Trip Bus Information: We will stop at McCormicks, the Gap, the school, and the Ozone church to drop kids off after the trip. Your student will contact you about pickup times. If you have any questions, contact the school!💜

Don't forget the Country Bumpkin Bonfire tomorrow: Friday, May 5th.. 6-9pm! @ the School Field! $3/person and $5/couple. Pulled pork meal-$5 . Other snacks for sale too! Music, games, & fun for all! We can't wait to see you there!!! :)

Ms. Sandy and 3rd grade celebrated the end of their state test week with some fun that was shining as bright as they did during the test!!🪩

Mr. Warren's class came and joined Kindergarten Tuesday for some Reading and Drawing activities!!! They did so awesome and Kindergarten had a blast! 💜📚

We have some cute twinkies this morning in 2nd grade! They requested a selfie with their teacher too! How sweet ❤️ Happy Friday! 🥳💜
