🎉 Staff Spotlight: Coach Meythaler 🏀📚
Coach Meythaler brings a wealth of experience and passion for education and athletics to Oark, with an impressive 28 years of service in public schools. His journey began after two years as the assistant women’s basketball coach at John Brown University, followed by roles coaching cross country, JV basketball, and baseball at Eureka Springs.
He continued his coaching career at Van-Cove High School and later in Watts, Oklahoma, where he led girls basketball, softball, and volleyball teams. Coach Meythaler returned to Arkansas to coach cross country at Siloam Springs, guiding teams to one state championship and two runner-up finishes.
In 2008, he founded the women’s basketball program at Ecclesia College, leading the team to a national runner-up finish in the NCCAA Championship in 2010. More recently, Coach Meythaler has focused on teaching business and alternative education while spending quality time with his family. He also served as the assistant volleyball coach at Huntsville for three years and coached club volleyball with NWA Storm. In 2023, he was honored as the FBLA District VII Adviser of the Year.
Coach Meythaler and his wife Janna recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They have three accomplished children: Mark, a 2-time Quiz Bowl state champion; Kelli, a collegiate athlete in two sports; and Jordyn, a 2-time FBLA national qualifier who will attend the University of the Ozarks this fall.
